Mary used to make pillows of fine Shetland wool that she'd sell to the crews of the Herring ships which were always popping in and out of port. Her neighbour Agnes noted wryly that it wasn't just the softness of the wool that kept the sailor's patronage - Diary of a Glen Shepherd

Add a touch of character to your interiors with this beautiful Real Shetland Wool Cushion. The tartan cushion would look perfect scattered on the bed, as a statement piece on your sofa or, as a stylish bench cushion. The versatile, authentic designs of this gorgeous cushion also make it the perfect gift for any occasion.

Inspired by the designs of T.M. Adie, of Voe, a traditional Shetland Tweed weaver, this unique Real Shetland Cushion is manufactured in the United Kingdom using 100% Real Shetland Wool in the casing and filling (100% cotton inner case).

The Shetlands are a small group of northern Scottish islands with a proud weaving and knitting heritage and their own distinctive breed of diminutive sheep which thrive in the harsh, windswept climate. Real Shetland yarn production is a croft industry which sustains artisans in this remote part of the UK.
